Mrs. Mary Marie Steffey Davis, age 72, of Dahlonega, Ga., died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, Ga.|
Mary was born in Indiana, Pa., Sept. 25, 1941. She had lived in Dahlonega for the past 21 years. She retired from the Publix Grocery Store on Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, Ga. She also worked at Blairsville Machine Products, where they manufactured pins for Army tank tracks. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
Mary was the daughter of the late Murray Steffey Sr. and Katherine Fisher Steffey, and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Davis; and her daughter, Sheila Davis.
Mary is survived by her son, Murray Davis, who lost his best friend, and his wife, Kathleen, Murrayville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Davis, Dahlonega, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Murray and Elyn Steffey Jr., Punxsutawney, Pa.; Gary and Linda Steffey, Indiana, Pa.; sister and brother-in-law, Peg Gardner and John Dills, Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Sheila Davis, CeCe Davis, Jesse Overstreet and Jeremy Overstreet; great-grandson, Tyler Overstreet. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Mary was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
