Robert Curtis “Curt” Moore, Sr. Obituary
Mr. Robert Curtis "Curt" Moore, Sr., age 79, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at First Baptist Church on Green St., Gainesville. Dr. Bill Coates, the Rev. Bruce Fields and the Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, and 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment to be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Anglers Sunday School Class will be honorary pall bearers.

Curt was born on June 11, 1933, a native of Gainesville, Ga., the son of the late Robert Oertel Moore and Annie (Boyd) Moore. He was a 1949 graduate of Gainesville High School. He attended North Georgia College and served in the ROTC program. He graduated with an engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1956. He served during the Korean conflict in the United States Army. Curt was employed with Nationwide Insurance Company for 25 years and Life of Georgia for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Alma Jean (White) Moore, and a daughter, Amy Julia (Moore) Talley.

Curt is survived by his wife, Martha (Godfrey) Moore, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Curtis Moore, Jr. and Toni, Dahlonega; and Edgar Grady Moore and Kim, Cumming; grandson, Edgar Grady Moore, III, Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Dianne Moore, Gainesville; sister, Sara M. Carruth, Gainesville; son-in-law, Joe Talley, Jr.; step-son and wife, Rick and Susan Godfrey, Sharpsburg; step-daughter and husband, Jamie and Warren Stribling, Gainesville; and step-daughter, Patti Godfrey, Gainesville; 10 step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flower the family has requested donations be made to the First Baptist Church Wounded Warrior Fund, 751 Green St., Gainesville, GA 30501, Good News at Noon Shelter, 979 Davis St. Gainesville, GA 30501 and the Salvation Army, 711 Dorsey St., Gainesville, GA 30501.
