Robert McGregor Cooley, 78, of Gainesville passed away Nov. 11, 2012. Born in Humboldt, Tenn., he was predeceased by his parents, Grady and Louise Cooley; and his sister, Edith Edwards.

After graduating high school, Mr. Cooley proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal CV-59.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Cooley; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lara of Woodstock; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cynthia of Cumming; sister, Carolyn Norton of Memphis, Tenn; and six grandchildren, Ian, Emma, Andrew, Jordan, Matthew, and Jenna.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David White will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
