Thomas Wilton Butler Jr., age 85, of Dawsonville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Interment to follow in Chestatee Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Reeves, the Rev. Steve Chadwick and the Rev. Herman Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, from 3-9 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Butler was born June 22, 1928, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Thomas Wilton Butler Sr. and Tannie Stewart Butler. He was retired from Bill Elliott Enterprise and was a member of Chestatee Baptist Church. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bobby Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 63 years, Noveleen Butler, Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and JoAnn Butler, Stanley and Nancy Butler and Terry and Donna Butler, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Greg Butler, Jessica Butler, Burt Butler, Hunter Butler and Jesse Turner; and five great-grandchildren.
