Obituary Condolences

William E. Butler, age 83, of Gainesville passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Mesun Hospice in Lawrenceville, following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Grizzle will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2013, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Butler was born May 20, 1929, in Macon, Ga., to the late Denver Anderson Butler and Helen Ruby Sarvis Butler. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Bowman Transportation Co. William later retired as a truck driver.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Hazel Andrews Butler of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Denver E. "Gene" and Janet Butler of Gainesville; grandsons, Brandon Butler and Blake Butler; granddaughter, Sheree Jett; granddaughter and fiancé, Kayla Free and Jeremy Crumley; great-great-grandchild, Elizabeth Warren; mother-in-law, Willie Nell Allison of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Louise Evans of Lawrenceville and Lorene Grogan of Gainesville; cousin, William R. Butler Jr. of Americus, Ga.; and nieces and nephews, Tammy Crumley, Doug Crumley, Tyler Crumley, David Evans, Jordan Evans, Tim Evans, Cathy Evans and Caitlyn Evans.
