Louise M. Hulsey, 87, of Gainesville went home on Friday, April 4, 2014, to be with her Lord and savior and all the ones who went on before her.
Born in Cumming, Ga., on April 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Martin Phyfe. She graduated from Dawson County High School in 1943. She was employed as a seamstress for Hoschton Garment. She was a charter member of Living Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hulsey; grandson, William Spivey; brother, J.H. Phyfe; sister, Hazel Reeves.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Spivey of Gainesville, Melba Ree Hulsey of Gillsville, Melva Ann Orr of Gillsville, Juanita Hulsey of Braselton; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Franklin and Grace Hulsey of Gainesville; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. Frankie Spivey and the Rev. Everest Carlisle will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
