Mrs. Rose Marie Kirby, age 75, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Riverside Drive, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Bishop Bob Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kirby was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Rolling Fork, Miss. to the late William Warren Strickland and Sadie Marie Hulin Strickland. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters; and three brothers.
Mrs. Kirby is survived by her husband, Allen Kirby Jr. of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kathleen Kirby of Austin, Texas, and Keith and Carolyn Kirby of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and John Younker of Brownsville, Tenn.; son, Christopher W. Kirby of Warner Robins, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Marie and Robert Reed of Buckeye, Ariz.; 30 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
