Michael William Hagler, age 56, of Gainesville passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

A celebration of his life is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas Blakely will officiate.

Mr. Hagler was born March 24, 1958, in Atlanta, to the late Bill Hagler and Dot Hagler Brown. He was disabled and was of the Baptist faith. Michael was an associate pastor at Morningside Baptist Church, youth pastor and teen Sunday school teacher at Hillcrest Baptist Church and also a Sunday school teacher at Heavens View Baptist Church and Brookton Baptist Church.

Mr. Hagler is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cynthia Phillips Hagler of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Casey Jill and David Chastain; grandson, Blake Chastain; granddaughter, Gracee Chastain; sisters, Vicky and Thomas Blakely, Anne Degrave and Jill and Ed King; nieces and nephews, Brandy Driver, Josh King, Amy King, Kenny Phillips, Marcus Phillips and Amanda and Randall Degrave; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Bo Driver, Walt Driver and Gracie Driver.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is in charge of arrangements.
