Jimmie Wood Cooper, 101, of Flowery Branch passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cooper was born on Oct. 30, 1912, in Homer, Ga., to the late Harbin Albert Wood and Florence Marie Segars Wood. She was a retired schoolteacher with the Hall County School System and attended Midway United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aaron Jack Cooper; sisters, Alma Martin, Mary Brownlow, Gretrell Wood.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Syble Cooper of Chestnut Mountain, Lamar and Vivian Cooper of McRae, Ga.; granddaughter, Lisa William of Gainesville; grandsons, Scott Cooper of Flowery Branch and Matt Cooper of Augusta, Ga.; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Kytle of Gainesville, Molly Brown of Commerce and Milford House of Gillsville; brother, George Wood of Gillsville.
