William "Bill" Riley, age 70, of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Mary Riley; and granddaughter, Allison Riley. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Yvonne Bradley Riley, Gainesville, Ga.; children, Billy and Kasey Riley, Auburn, Ga., Norman Riley, Virginia, Allison Martinez and husband, McGill, Gainesville, Ga., and Alex Garrett, Gainesville, Ga.; five grandchildren; brothers, Dwayne Riley, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Johnny Riley, Ashland, Ky., Junior Riley, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sisters and brother-in-law, Carla and Doug Cannon, Flowery Branch, Ga., and Tempie Wiggins, Buford, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Riley was born July 15, 1944, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam era and receiving numerous accommodations and awards including the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired bounty hunter for the U.S. Fugitive Task Force and also worked for the Jackson County Sheriff's Office along with being a correctional officer and EMT. He was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Riley and Pastor Gary Osteen officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Garden in Buford, Ga., with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, from 2-8 p.m.
