Mrs. Virginia Barnes Wilson, age 81, of Clermont passed away on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Jones and the Rev. John Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Alvin Barnes and Gertrude Cox Barnes. She was retired from Coronet Carpets and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Clifton Lawrence Wilson; and her brothers, Dennis Lamar Barnes and J.B. Barnes.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children and their spouses, Glenda Tyner Phagan and Glen Phagan of Dahlonega, Wanda Tyner Jones and the Rev. Terry Jones of Ranger, Ga., and Lamar Tyner and Vicki Anderson Tyner of Murrayville; grandchildren, Brittany Tyner, Emily and Ryan Huffman, Ryan and Amanda Phagan, Rachel and Richard Pirkle and Micah Jones; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Joan Thomas Barnes and Joyce Wofford Barnes; and nine nieces and nephews.
