Mrs. Alma Bailey, age 87, of Gainesville, formerly of Cleveland, passed away at her residence on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Bogalusa, La., the daughter of the late Adam and Katherine Unterhiner Dindinger. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ed Bailey; son, Richard Vernon Scarbrough; and stepson, Dan Bailey. She was a retired realtor and member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Kelly Moore, Gainesville, Marie and Ted Ratliff, Cullman, Ala., and Gloria and Bob Jones, Gainesville; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lorraine Bailey, St. Augustine, Fla., and Jack and Sandra Bailey, Mansfield; grandchildren, Patrick Moore, Nashville, Tenn., Lauren Moore, Gainesville, Melissa and Keith Moore, Bentonville, Ark., Jennifer and Clayton Rhoads, Cumming, Kim Jones, Gainesville, Ricky and Pat Scarbrough, Rebecca and Russell Davis, Houston, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dave Wesche will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
