Frances Cobb Mobley, age 78, of St. Augustine passed away peacefully at the Bailey Center for Caring on Feb. 20, 2011, surrounded by her family. Frances was born in Durham, N.C., and was a longtime resident of Gainesville before moving to St. Augustine in 1994.

She worked as a legal assistant in the real estate division at the Law Firm of Stewart, Melvin and Frost in Gainesville for 18 years and was a member Trinity Methodist Church in Dalton. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Edgar, and his wife, Pamela, of St. Augustine; Mitchell Scott Mobley of Gainesville, Georgia and Andrew Cobb Mobley of St. Augustine; a sister, Patricia Cobb Quarles and her husband, John S. Quarles, of Dalton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis N. Mobley; a son, William Glenn Mobley; and her parents, Edgar D. and Ollie S. Cobb.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville with the Rev. Rodney L. Queen officiating.
