Mr. Carl Boyd Conner, 90, of Murrayville died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at his residence following an extended illness.

A lifetime resident of Hall County, he was the son of the late Joe and Lizzie Bennett Conner. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mount Vernon and Yellow Creek Baptist Church, the Murrayville Masonic Lodge No. 30 F&AM, a substitute school bus driver for Hall County School and was a self-employed farmer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Helen Conner; daughter, Deborah; brothers, Hoyt, Worth, Edison, Clyde; sisters, Annie, Lenora and Ruth.

Mr. Conner is survived by his children, Joyce and Benny Chester, Murrayville; Randall and Denise Conner, Dahlonega; Ronnie and Tena Conner, Moorefield, W.Va.; Ricky Conner, Dahlonega; brother, Ray Conner, Murrayville; grandchildren, Austin, Lucas, Jessie, Marcus, Casie, Trena; one great-grandchild, Hayden Andrew Evans; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Ricky Stone, the Rev. Franklin Grant officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Ken Anderson officiating, along with full military honors and Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, from 1-8 p.m.
