Charles "Charlie" Blythe Brown, age 83, of Gainesville passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charlie was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Manila, Philippines, to the late William Henry Brown and Mary Blythe Brown. He received his engineering degree from Virginia Tech and his masters degree from Georgia Tech. Charlie served in the Air Force and retired from Lockheed-Martin after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Angus "Gus" Brown.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Brown of Gainesville, Ga.; daughter, Debbie Brown of Lawrenceville, Ga.; son, Stuart Brown of Marietta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Watkins of Kennesaw, Ga.; and grandsons, Matt and Kyle Strashnick.
