Robert Harold Coker Jr., age 73, of Murrayville passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.|
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Northlake Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. Tony Smith will officiate. The family will receive guests at their home in Murrayville on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the Cash Foyer of Northlake Baptist Church.
Mr. Coker was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Experiment, Ga., to the late Robert Harold Coker Sr. and Onabelle Brown Coker. He served in the Air Force and was retired from Georgia Power. Robert was a charter member of Northlake Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was a Gideon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James R. Coker.
Mr. Coker is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lana Echols Coker of Murrayville; daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Robert Yancey of Sandy Springs, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. Coker III and Sheri Rea Coker of Little Rock, Ark.; grandsons, Coker Cresap Yancey and George L. Taber V; granddaughter, Kiplin Rea Taber; sister, Nancy Carolyn Coker of Smyrna, Ga.; and brother, David Thomas Coker of Red Oak, Ga.
