Edward Franklin Carico, 83, of Galax, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in the Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born in Grayson County, on April 29, 1929, to Lonnie Edward and Cora Nichols Carico.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae Hodges Carico of Galax; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Paul Vaughan and Anne and Colen Kirby, all of Ennice, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, E.J. and Pam Carico of Fort Mill, S.C.; sisters, Louise Vaughan and Edith Wilson, both of Galax; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one niece and four nephews.
A graveside service will be held today, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice.
