Billy Harold Redd, 77, of Galax, Va., passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Redd was born in Grayson County, Va., on April 11, 1936, to James Harvey and Effie Grace Nobblett Redd.
Survivors include his wife Eula Mae Redd of Galax, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Raven Buckingham of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Penny and Jason Criner of Galax, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Regina Redd of Galax, Va.; grandchildren and spouses, Brandon and Jessie Wallace, Dereck and Caitlyn Criner, Sarah and Dewey Evans and Seth Criner; great-grandchild, Blake Wallace; step-grandchild, Kadance Evans; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with Dereck Criner, the Rev. James Cowley and the Rev. Russ Cox officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Vale Cemetery. Masonic rites were conducted by the Galax Oldtown Lodge #68. The family received friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mount Vale United Methodist Church, Hillcrest Baptist Church or Saddle Mountain Baptist Church.
