Carroll Gray Hawks Jr., 55, of Lambsburg, died at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.
He was born in Galax on Aug. 23, 1957, to Christine Walker Hawks and the late Carroll Gray Hawks Sr.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Lukas and husband Roger Lukas; a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Grayson Hawks and wife, Courtney Hawks of Fairbanks, Ark.; three grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Clarence Hawks of Mount Airy, N.C., and Ronald Hawks and wife, Selena Hawks of Safety Harbor, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bill Spurlin, the Rev. Dud Spencer and the Rev. Israel Easter. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW
Honor Guard Post 2010 of Mount Airy, N.C., and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requests memorials be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, N.C. 27030 to assist with the funeral expenses.
