Donna Marie Long Brown Sprowls, 84
Donna Marie Long Brown Sprowls, 84, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va.
She was born April 20, 1929, at Marysville, Kan., to the late Lydia Jane Hunter and Robert W. Long.
She was a retired school teacher
having taught special education.
She was the widow of Gordon A. Sprowls.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Becky and Timothy Absher of Mouth of Wilson and Kathleen Marie Petrovich of Oakland, Calif.; one son, Michael Sprowls of Raytown, Mo.; step-daughter, Carolyn Sprowls of Washington, Penn.; two sisters, Elaine Long of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Leora Johnson of Citrus Heights, Calif.; three brothers, Kenneth Long of San Antonio, Texas; Gerald Long of Florence, Ariz., and Martin Long of Lecompton, Kan.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Youngs Chapel Baptist Church, Mouth of Wilson, Va.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. preceding the memorial service.
