Earl Howard Dalton, 91, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Dalton was born in Carroll County to the late James Isaac and Belva Davis Dalton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Dalton; son-in-law, Marion Stilwell; grandson, Marty Stilwell; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Dalton of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayla Stilwell of Hillsville, Brenda and Jim Bazzle of Hillsville, Maggie and Gary Monteith of King, N.C., and Lisa and Harry Daugherty Jr. of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Sanford and Theresa Dalton of Hillsville; daughter-in-law, Wanda C. Dalton of Hillsville; sister, Imogene Henley of Galax; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Janie Dalton of Hillsville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edward Richardson and Pastor Tony Hodge officiating. Burial followed in Little Vine Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m.
