Elizabeth Semones Smythers, 88, of Winston-Salem, N.C., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Smythers; parents, James Edgar and Alta Pearl Quesenberry Semones; and sister, Dianne Robinson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Randy Wolfe of Winston-Salem, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Nancy Smythers of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Orba and Vera Semones, and Leo and Shirley Semones, all of Hillsville and Norman and Ruby Semones of Fancy Gap; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Christine Patton of Galax, Esther and Harley Bryant of Hillsville, Irleen and Charlie Largen of Hillsville; brother-in-law, Allen Robinson of Liberty, N.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Adrienne and Rob Miller, Adam Smythers, Aaron and Brittany Smythers, Ashley Wolfe and Alex Wolfe; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Miller, Emily Miller and Brendan Miller.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hillsville with the Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hillsville.
