Ila Faye Payne, 80, of Woodlawn, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
She was born in Carroll County, on Oct. 4, 1932, to Estel and Vergie Hanks Harrison.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Payne.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Regenia and Paul Garber of Ararat; sons and daughter-in-law, Terron and Patricia Payne of Vinton and Carroll Lewis Payne of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held today, Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Bunn and the Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery.
The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service at the church.
