Jackie "Jack" Lee Thomas, 76, of High Point, N.C., passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center.
He was the loving husband of the late Linda (Fricke) Thomas.
Thomas was born on Jan. 5, 1936, in Fries, Va., to the late Cecil and Beulah (Vaughn) Thomas.
Jack worked as a detail shop manager at a Chevrolet dealership in Gas City, Ind., for 43 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, working on cars, being out in nature and spending time with his family.
Thomas is survived by three daughters, Melody Thomas and her partner, Jack Cobbler of High Point, N.C., Shari Bayston and her husband, Brett of Lebanon, Ind., and Michelle Thomas-West and her husband, Eddie of Pikeville, Ky.; a son, Ty Thomas and his wife, Lisa of Larwill, Ind.; five grandchildren, Brandon Woodcox and his wife, Gabby, Grace and Spencer Bayston, and Ashley and Johnathon Thomas; three sisters, Faye Blanton and her husband, Charlie of Jonesboro, Ind., Cleo Dowling of Fries, Va., and Texas Harreld of Fries, Va.; a brother, Michael Thomas of Marion, Ind.; many precious and wonderful nieces and nephews; and Max and Pam from Kay's Pizza of Gas City who graciously kept Jack fed after his wife passed.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Thomas; a sister-in-law, Donna Thomas; and two brother-in-laws, Cleve Dowling and Ronny Harreld.
A memorial service will be held in Jack's honor in April 2013 at Gardens of Memories, 11201 S. Marion Road, Marion, Ind. 46952.
