Larry Wayne Lawson passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at his home in Austinville.
Larry loved his family, especially his great-great nieces and nephews and enjoyed gardening, his cat and his "cow."
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Larry graduated from Woodlawn High School and Wytheville Community College and worked for many years at the Southwest Virginia Training Center.
He is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, the Rev. Albert Dale and Mavis Lawson Frazier of Austinville; and his parents, Garfield and Martha Lawson of Austinville.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in law, Winford and Mildred Lawson of Austinville; nephews and nieces, Greg and Becky Frazier, Donna and Barry Thomas, Angie and Scott Crigger, all of Austinville, Stan Frazier of Charlotte, N.C., Laura Wilson of Richmond and Bobby Houser of Austinville; six great-nieces and nephews; five great-great-nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsville, Va., with the Rev. Phillip Campbell, pastor of Shorts Creek Church of God, officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday prior to the service. There was no graveside service.
