Marshall Bernard Diamond, 66, passed away April 8, 2013, at his home in Troutville, Va.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1946, in Galax, Va., to Marshall and Eva Frazier Diamond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Voncile Diamond Reeves.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Rose Diamond of Sumter, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Bernard graduated from Galax High School and Danville, Va. Technical School. After graduation from Danville Technical School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy
. After he finished his military duty, he moved to Troutville, Va., and worked for the telephone company in Roanoke, Va. Upon retirement, he maintained his residence in Troutville.
He was an avid traveler and camper. He loved the ocean and at his request his ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean.
He leaves a lot of friends and relatives in Troutville and Galax, Va.
