Mary N. Tidline, 105, of Galax, Va., passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, in the Waddell Nursing Home.
She was born in Crumpler, N.C., on Jan. 17, 1908.
She was married to Samuel K. Tidline and they had one son, John Neal. They made their home in the Old Town Community.
Sister Mary was converted at an early age and joined Saint John's Baptist Church in Bristol, N.C. She later joined the Old Town Baptist Church, Galax, Va., and served as a Mother of the Church, choir member and missionary. She was a good friend to everyone.
Both her husband and her son preceded her in death.
Survivors include six grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; host of nieces and nephews; and one special cousin.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved cat, Buster.
The funeral services were held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Cutler officiating. Burial followed in the Oldtown Cemetery.
