Viola Tolliver Smith Easter, 96, of Sparta, N.C., died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at the Grayson Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Independence.
She was born Jan. 1,1917, in Pulaski County to the late Charlie and Grace Tolliver.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Smith Jaslowski of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a brother, Garland "A" Tolliver and wife Helen of Pulaski; a sister, Hatie Roan of Christiansburg; a step son and wife Royce Reuben and Martha Easter of Galax; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kyle Smith; and second husband, Reuben Easter.
A funeral was held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Crab Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ronald Bowman and Elder Bobby Absher officiating. Burial followed in the Crab Creek Cemetery.
