Hillary Madison Hughes, 81, of Radford, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.
He was retired maintenance supervisor with Carroll County Schools and a member of The Presbyterian Church of Radford.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and a lifetime member of the VFW Post in Hillsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee Kemp Hughes.
Survivors include his children, Richard Lee Hughes and wife, Connie, of Galax and his daughter Deborah Hughes-Bullock of New Bern, N.C.; half-sisters, Mary Hilda Martin and Linda Hilton; grandchildren, Shannon Dalton and husband Bradley of Galax and Richard Conley Hughes and wife Julie of Hardy; great-grandchildren, Bradley Dalton Jr., William Lee Dalton and Elizabeth Hughes; first cousin Judith Doyle of Lakeland, Fla., and her son and Brian and Susan and Masie Doyle; and sister-in-law, Doris Goad and husband Paul of Hillsville.
A graveside service will be held today, Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post 776 will conduct military graveside rites.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Radford with the Rev. David Dickerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Mullins Funeral Home.
