Arthur Cornealius Holdaway Jr., 84, of Fallston, Md., formerly of the Grubbs Chapel Community, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1930, in Grayson County to Arthur Cornealius Holdaway Sr., and Missouri Ward Holdaway.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Janet Hansen of Fallston, Md.; daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Jeff Frailer of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Lewis Holdaway of North Pole, Alaska; mother of his children, Etta Ruth Holdaway of Las Vegas, Nev.; companion's son and wife, Owen and Monica McCullough of Seward, Neb.; daughter and friend, Anissa Meduna and Wayne Servantez of Torrington, Wyo.; six grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Long of Darlington, Md., and Ruth Knopp of Delta, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Hobert Osborne and Herbert Sturdivant of Independence, Fred Sturdivant and wife Pernetta of Stuarts Draft and William Snyder of Dayton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Ollie Sturdivant of Sparta, N.C.; an aunt; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends
A funeral was held Aug. 5, 2014, at Grubbs Chapel Baptist Church, Independence. The Rev. Ricky Miller officiated. Burial was in Grubbs Chapel Cemetery with military rites by Grayson County VFW Post 7726.
