Bobby Wayne Elliott, 68, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
He was born Oct. 29, 1945, in Fries, to Wayne Elliott and Dorothy Reavis Belton.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Sawyers Elliott of the home; step father, Ray Belton of Baywood; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Kelly Elliott of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Jimmy and Ginger Elliott of Galax; six granddaughters; sisters and spouses, Janice and Doug Warf of Memphis, Tenn., Wanda and Alan Wingate of Galax, Carolyn and Ronnie Hamm of Woodlawn, Sharon and Randall Carico of Galax, Patricia Elliott of Hillsville and Sheila and Mike Perry of Fries; brothers and spouses, Jack and Carolyn Elliott of Walkertown, N.C., Kenneth and Kay Belton of Baywood and Terry and Jennifer Elliott of Galax; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Aug. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Baywood Wesleyan Church with Pastor Barry Miller and the Rev. Jack Elliott officiating. The body lay in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial followed in the Fries Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Grayson VFW Post 7726.
