Charles Wesley Newsome, 61, of Galax, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
He was born on July 17, 1950, to Grady Oscar and Cora Lee Lane Newsome.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell McLean Newsome of Galax; daughter and son-in-law, April and Tim McAdams of Stuart; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles W. Newsome Jr. of Tobaccoville, N.C., Charles and Alisa Lester of Patrick Springs; step-children, Christine Robinson of Galax, Scott Lester and Chuck Lester, both of King, N.C., Tony Lester of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Jimmy Edmonds of Pilot Mountain, N.C., Dorothy and Mike Smith and Doris and Allen Ladd, all of King, N.C.; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the First Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert McLean and Brother James Howell officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Christian Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville, N.C.
