Deloris Gayle Patton, better known as Peanut, 62, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born to the late Andrew Jackson Hill and Mary Edith Dowling Hill in Galax on March 6, 1950.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Chris Cox of Fries; two sons, Rodney Hill and David Sexton, both of Fries; three granddaughters; two sisters, Diane Lundy and Anglea Mabe, both of Galax; two brothers, Bobby Ray Hill of Fries and Nicky Handy of Woodlawn; step mother, Hattie Hill of Galax; a special nephew and family Kenneth, Eliza and Lakyn Mallory; and several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Burris and the Rev. Tony Funk officiating. Burial followed in the Providence Cemetery.
