Donald (Don) Lee Hein, 80, of Hillsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at his home.
Hein was born in Minnesota to the late Henry William and Wanda Teller Hein.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Hein.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce C. Hein of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Nat Dailey of Coloniel Heights and Rhonda and Gene Gurganis of Chester; step children, Edwin Walston of Greenville, N.C., Angela Brueck of Twin Lakes, Mi., Johnny Walston of Farmville, N.C., and Vada Batten of Pine Tops, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Hein of Minnesota, Alice Stromburg of Minnesota, Barbara and Bob Hamm of Arizona and Mary Smith of Minnesota; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Oscar Hill , the Rev. Sandy Hendrick, and Elder David Kamoda officiating. Burial will be in the Heath Banks Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
