Douglas Eugene Scarberry, 57, passed away Monday, June 4, at Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, N.C., after a long illness.

He was born in Charleston, W.Va., to Hazel Lenora Hinkle and resided in Hillsville, Va., for the last 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother Joey Scarberry; and his daughter-in-law, Kay Parnell Beller.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Scarberry of Hillsville, Va.; his mother, Hazel Lenora Hinkle, of Cana, Va.; his children and their spouses, Sergeant Major (U.S. Army) James and Angela Beller of Fort Knox, Ky., Mellissa Beller and LaShay Summers of Newton, Kan., Christopher Beller of Hillsville, Va., and Cynthia and Kevin Eldridge of Ashville, N.C.; one granddaughter, Katelyn Skye Eldridge of Sparta, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Terri and Tony Fenno of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Robyn Burgess of Deer Park, Texas; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Peggy and Ed Thompson of Poca, W.Va., Patty and Boye Bangsbo of Eugene, Ore.; and six nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony was held at his home with close friends and relatives.
