Mabel E. Caudell Funk, 91, of Dublin and formerly of Galax, Va., passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Va.

She was born on June 2, 1922, in Ennice, N.C., to Glenn and Bessie Richardson Evans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Keith Caudell; her second husband, Jesse Funk; a sister, Marie Medley Hawks; and a brother Rudolph Evans.
She retired as cafeteria manager at Baywood Elementary School many years ago.
She was a faithful member of Gladeville United Methodist Church and for the previous three years she attended the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski when her health permitted.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Linda Caudell of Pulaski, Va.; grandchildren and spouses, Shannon and Natalie Caudell of Pulaski, Va., and Shawn and Leigh Ann Caudell of Christiansburg, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlyn, Wes and Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Grimm and the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time for the funeral service at the Gladeville United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gladeville United Methodist Church.
