Mabel Marie Mahaffey Webb, 87, of Wytheville, formerly of Ceres and Rugby, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Edgemont Center in Wytheville.
She was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Virginia to the late Lee Mahaffey and Flossie Reedy Mahaffey.
She was the widow of James Frazier Webb Sr.
Survivors include 10 children and spouses, Betty and Paul Whiteley and Allen Webb of Mouth of Wilson, Kelly Webb of Ceres, Linda Buffington of Georgia and Allen Tadlock, Helen and Edgar Moore and Debbie Fulford, all of Wytheville, Donna and Curt Gentry of West Jefferson, N.C., Carol Webb of Rowland, N.C. and Susan Martin of Pearisburg; one sister, Dortha Virginia McMichael of Tenn.; one brother and spouse, Mike and Patti Fields of Galax; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Thursday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, with burial in Haw Orchard Cemetery, Rugby. The Rev. Rex Hall officiated.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, was in charge of arrangements.
