Martha Jane "Janie" Spencer, 70, of Verona and formerly of Laurel Fork, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center in Fishersville.
She was born in McLean to the late Raymond Elvin and Frances McCauley Hansborough.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Spencer.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Tina and Greg Chamberlain of Waldorf, Md., Ruby Rakes of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Tanya Hostetter of Verona; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Shonda Spencer of Christiansburg; sisters, Carol Raye Blair of Clinton, Maryland and Theresa Ann Williams of Germantown, Md.; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at noon at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Winston Puckett and Pastor Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m.-noon prior to the funeral service.
