Violet May McCraw Hall, 95, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at her daughter's home in Mount Airy, N.C.

She was born in Carroll County to the late Daniel Jesse and Lela Frances Leftwich McCraw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Hall; and two sons, Roby E. Hall and Saford H. Hall Sr.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Faye H. Burcham of Mocksville, N.C., Pearl and Curtis Lineberry of Austinville, Bonnie and Melvin Goad of Salem, Goldie and Ronnie Horton of Hillsville and June and Jonas Pike of Mount Airy, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Lorraine Hall of Hillsville; daughters-in-law, Polly Hall of Copper Hill and Ima Lindsey of Hillsville; special caregiver, Joann Dearmon of Mount Airy, N.C.; 23 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 22 step great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Witten officiating. Burial followed in Independence Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m.
