Lendon "Brent" Watson, 67, of Stuart, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Surry County, N.C., on April 1, 1947, and was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Oneita Hill Watson.
He was a member of Westfield Baptist Church, and had been the owner/operator of Stuart Glass for over 30 years.
Watson enjoyed helping others and didn't know a stranger. He was a friend to all. He was a big man with a big heart and adored his grandbabies who called him "Papa Brent."
Survivors include one son, Doyle Watson and wife, Stacey of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; two daughters, Jennifer Watson King and husband, Benny of Stuart and Stephanie J. Watson and fiancé, Steve Seigler of Mount Airy, N.C.; three grandchildren, Levi Watson, Lukah Watson and London Watson; his father, Clayton S. Watson and companion, Margot D. Sams, of Mount Airy, N.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey "Vann" and Crystal Watson of Yadkinville, N.C.; the mother of his children, Sylvia Martin Hill of Mount Airy, N.C.; and family friend, Donna Thomas of Stuart.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Ricky Rodgers and Pastor Billy Watson officiating. Burial followed in the Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
