Rick was born on Nov. 14, 1957, in Georgia to James Darrell and Mary Morales Littreal.
Survivors include his parents of Fries, Va.; his daughter and her companion, Jessica Littreal and Jeremy Burton of Christiansburg, Va.; son, Christopher Littreal of Westchester, N.Y.; sister, Barbara Littreal Gaudet of Galax, Va.; brothers and sister-in-law, James Darrell and Pan Littreal of Fries, Va., and Roger Alan Littreal of Williamsburg, Va.; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and friend who always put others before himself and lived his life with a spark that lit a fire in the hearts of anyone who was lucky to know him. His gentle spirit was matched in greatness by his steadfastness.
He always had a song to sing, a story to tell and a lesson to teach. Let the music of his soul play on in our hearts and remind us all that there is always time to stop and dance.
The funeral service was held Sunday, June 1, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Donn Bogert officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until time for the funeral service at the church.
