Louis J. Bryant, 77, of Independence, passed away Aug. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born and raised on the family farm between Fox Creek and the New River with sister Carol and parents, Jim and Drucie Bryant.
Louis developed a love for the outdoors. As an avid outdoorsman, Louis hunted deer and grouse in Grayson County and made annual trips to South Dakota to hunt pheasants.
Louis had a successful insurance and real estate career in Independence and was respected by both his clients and colleagues. He also enjoyed playing golf with friends at New River Country Club and loved watching his grandsons during their successful golf careers.

The family and grandchildren would often make trips to the farm with him whether it was just a short ride around the farm, an afternoon of skeet shooting, or a day of fishing or hunting deer.
In the community, Louis was an active member and past president of Independence Lions Club and trustee of Fox Cemetery.
