Vance, Claude Randall  
Claude Randall Vance (Randy), died on Friday, July 24th in the Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Marion, Ohio, April 14, 1935 to Claude and Clytina Vance. Raised in Galion, Ohio where he was a star pitcher on the Galion Tigers Baseball Team and also a First Team All Ohio Basketball Player. After high school he pitched for the A's organization for 3 seasons in Welch, West Virginia. Later in life he coached championship winning baseball teams in Marion Little League and American Legion Post 162. Moving to Galion he had equal winning success with the Galion American Legion Post Baseball Team. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Clytina Vance and his niece LeAnn Evans of Raleigh, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Doris Vance of Galion; daughter, Lorrie (Gary) Bright of Columbus, son, Steve (Yvonne) Vance of Caledonia; sister, Nikki (Jack) Lawson of Raleigh, North Carolina; niece, Darcey (Joe) Talbert of Raleigh, North Carolina; nephew, Mike (Cathy) of Troy, Ohio, and a nephew, David Lawson of Raleigh, North Carolina. A private service will be held at a later date for the family.
