Donna L (Fabian) Dye(1931 - 2013)

Donna L. Dye, 81, of 5665 Monat Dr., Galion, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Donna was born in Galion on July 16, 1931 to the late Alvin G. and Ida V. (Kanney) Fabian. She married Richard E. "Red" Dye on January 31, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1999.
She graduated in 1949 from Galion High School. Along with her husband, she was co-owner of the former Red's Bar. Later, they co-owned The Emporium. Donna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion and taught physical education at St. Joseph Catholic School when the program began. She was a past secretary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #630 Auxiliary, Galion. Donna was a very active member of the Galion Golden Age Center, where she served on the Board of Directors. Donna especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, being outdoors, playing cards and BINGO.
She is survived by her six children: Sherrie & Mike Leonard, Galion; Kenneth Dye, Galion; Kellie & Clair Rowland, Woodland, MI; Lisa & Tony Dye-Hoffman, Galion; Carol & Mark Burggraf, Galion and Stacie Powell, Galion; her 13 grandchildren: Missie & Kevin, Mitch & Jody, Matt & Nichole, Roman, Ella, Kyle & Taylor, Cameron, Sammie, Burggy, Charlie, Jake, Carlie, and Nick; nine great-grandchildren: Chance, Carter, Seth, Leah, Corbin, Quentin, Eli, Maklyn, Ryland; her sister Carol Schlup, Atlanta, GA; and her sister-in-law Avis Fabian of Fairfield Glade, TN.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers Richard and Robert Fabian
A Memorial Prayer Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion, with Deacon Greg Kirk, Celebrant. Burial will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion at a later date. Donna was very proud to donate her body to the Department of Anatomy at The Ohio State University. Memorial contributions may be made to Galion Golden Age Center or St. Joseph Catholic School Playground Fund in care of the funeral home.
