Harold N. Hinklin(1940-2012)

Harold N. Hinklin, age 72, of Galion passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Riverside Methodist Hospital following a short illness.
He was born January 23, 1940 in Mansfield the son of Charles and Effie (Foos) Hinklin.
Harold served in the United States Air Force.
He worked for 30 years at the General Motors Plant in Ontario and was a member of UAW. In his younger years, Harold was a member of Saxton's Motorcycle Club.
Equipped with a dry sense of humor, Harold always had the last word and his quick wit got the best of most people.
His sweet tooth opened the door for Harold to make many friends. Know as the "candy man" Harold kept an arsenal of tootsie rolls and fireballs to pass out to children, waitresses or anyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Poole) Hinklin of Galion, a son Todd Hinklin (Valeria Curwin) of Chicago, three brothers and their spouses Roy (Marilyn) Hinklin of Somerset, KY, Delnor (Phyllis) Hinklin of Topeka, KS, and Zenith (Juanita) Hinklin of Mansfield; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law JoAnn (Pete) of Mansfield, Mary of Florida, Fritz of Florida, and Jim (Sally) of Willard; close friends Jerry, Bob and Rodney Deffendoll, Bill and Sylvia Cauldwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings Barbara Holloway, Lee and Glenn Hinklin.
Friends called Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 2-5 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where Harold's funeral service were held Monday at 11am. Pastor John Johnson officiated. Burial with military honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be held in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
