Hazel was born in Marion on October 13, 1924 to the late Joseph and Mildred (Firstenberger) Shirley. She married Lewis A. Ault on February 28, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1976.
She was retired from G.C. Murphy Company and Murphy Mart in Galion. Mrs. Ault was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Galion. She was a devoted mother, and her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She was known for her kindness, her selflessness, and her never ending positive attitude. She loved to laugh and tell stories of her childhood growing up on a farm, through the depression and wars, and raising her family. Her generosity stood out to all who knew her, as did her energy and tirelessness in everything she did. She will be missed dearly by a large family, who will carry on her legacy and her memory.
