David Michael Dean Sargel, 28, of Mt. Gilead, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Morrow County Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born March 4, 1986 in Morrow County, he was the son of the late Randy Horlocker and Carol Horlocker who survives.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galion. David enjoyed participating in all types of sports in the Special Olympics in Morrow County and won many ribbons for his accomplishments. He was in 4H with animals as a child, enjoyed wood working, liked to watch NASCAR and listen to country music. David was a wonderful cook and enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by adoptive mother Julie Sargel of Galion; adoptive grandparents Fred and Betty Sargel of Galion; sisters Susan and Julie; special friend Raven Carroll of Mt. Gilead and numerous biological and adoptive family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, 127 South Columbus Street, Galion, Ohio 44883 with Rev. Matt Wheeler officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to STOP (Stop The Overpopulation of Pets, Inc.) in care of the funeral home.
