Esther L. Laycox, 84 of Galion passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 2014 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home.
Born November 24, 1929 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Clarence and Goldie (Waugh) Downard.
Esther attended Galion High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #177, VFW Post #4329 both of Galion. Esther worked at various restaurants, the former Caleb V. Smith and Stratbury Manufacturing, the former North Electric and at Fleetwood Manufacturing.
She is survived by her three daughters; Kathy Behringer of Ft. Myers, Fla., Pamela Ross of Galion and Michelle Langford of New Port, TN; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters Loretta Dunaway and Vicki Webster and her good friend Lester Schoen.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion where prayer services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, with Father John Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
