Paul A. Davis, 86, formerly of Crestline, Ohio, passed away January 20, 2013, in Hospice Aurora House, Weslaco, Texas, after an extended period of failing health.
Born Feb. 7, 1926, in Galion, Ohio, he was the second son of the late Howard Davis and Mable (Altaffer) Davis.
He was happily married for 62 years to the Doris (Kincaid) Davis on Sept.3, 1950. Paul attended Galion High School until he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Second World War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, an avid member of the Mohican 99 trailer club in Mansfield, Ohio, P.P.G. golf league, and was a woodworker. He was a member of the First United Methodist of Crestline, Ohio. Paul retired from P.P.G. Industries, after 26 years, in 1991.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Sharon (Davis ) Vinson and David Vinson of Indianapolis, Indiana, son-in-law James Barnett of Willard, Ohio, and one son Paul (Rick) Davis and wife Billie of Galion Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by their daughter April (Davis) Barnett, their grandson Tony Vinson, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. No funeral services are planned, but a Memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of the Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Mercedes, Texas.
