Phyllis R. Larson, 90, of Galion, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Galion Community Hospital after a six week illness.

Born Oct. 11, 1922 in Iberia, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo W. and Myrtle I. (Palmer) Bashford. She was preceded in death on November 7, 2002 by her husband, Elwyn G. Larson whom she married on October 8, 1944.
She was a graduate of Iberia High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant, Oklahoma and the women of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge both in Durant, Okla. She first worked at the former Stratbury Manufacturing in Galion as a seamstress and then owned and operated Texoma Waste Control in Durant, Okla. with her husband.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Charolett Larson of Port Clinton; three granddaughters, Crystal Larson and Valerie Larson both of Galion and Jessica (Justin) Nelson of Virginia Beach, Va.; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Pamela Burgan; two nephews, Ronald (Linda) Spangler of Galion and Lynn (Gig) Spangler all of Galion.
In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded by one son, David Larson, five brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Iberia Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Schultheis officiating.
